Mr Naveed Alam

Thoracic Surgeon

Naveed Alam is a Canadian and American trained Thoracic Surgeon based in Melbourne.  He consults in Melbourne, Launceston, and Brunei and operates at St Vincent’s, Epworth Richmond, Monash Medical Centre, and JPMC in Brunei.

He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and has  completed additional fellowships at the National Cancer Institute of Canada and at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Mr Alam’s areas of interest are minimally invasive surgery (VATS and robotic), slipping rib syndrome, thoracic oncology and surgical education. Through his work with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and as a board member of the Asian Thoracoscopic Education Platform, he is extensively involved nationally and internationally in training junior and senior surgeons. He is also a founding member and examiner for the Asian Board of Thoracic Surgery.
